I first came to Am Yisrael in 1990, to serve as the Assistant Rabbi. I was immediately struck by the warmth and sincerity of our membership. It did not take long for this congregation to become home for me and my family. When our founding Rabbi, William Frankel, retired in 1994, I was honored that the congregation chose me to be its sole Rabbi. It has been a good shidduch, a good match. The congregation is stimulating, both intellectually and spiritually. I have had the opportunity to teach a great deal, which I love. I am involved with our Adult Education program including Family Education for our Religious school. It has been extremely gratifying to reach out to our members both in good times and in bad. I have been privileged to work with an exceptional professional staff which shares and reflects the values of this congregation. I consider myself extremely fortunate to be the Rabbi of such a special congregation.
