DESCRIPTION:via Zoom\n\nOur Current Events class\, led by Cantor Simon\, wi
 ll discuss the rise in antisemitism and hate crimes\, and the toxic rhetor
 ic being spewed by various entertainers and politicians. Guest speaker for
  this session will be Trent Spoolstra of the ADL.\n\nTrent Spoolstra is th
 e Associate Regional Director for the Midwest office of the Anti-Defamatio
 n League in charge of young leadership development and Jewish community re
 lations. He leads the region’s young leadership class called Glass Leade
 rship Institute\, assists with the ADL Associate Board\, sets up adolescen
 t training sessions to counter antisemitism\, and runs the region’s Sign
 ature Synagogue Program. Before coming to ADL\, Trent worked in AmeriCorps
 -VISTA and was a high school history teacher in Texas. He holds a bachelor
 's degree in political science from Notre Dame and a master's degree in in
 ternational affairs from the Bush School of Government &amp\; Public Servi
