Through the Better Together initiative, Am Yisrael builds meaningful relationships across generations by connecting teens, adults, and older community members through shared experiences, creativity, learning, and service.
Music brings generations together. Our choir creates opportunities for teens and older adults to build friendships while sharing the joy of Jewish music.
Participants exchange stories, memories, and reflections through guided writing, preserving personal experiences while building meaningful connections across generations.

One of Am Yisrael’s most treasured traditions is our Intergenerational Torah Reading program. Children, parents, grandparents, and even great-grandparents prepare and read Torah side by side, creating unforgettable moments that celebrate learning, family, and Jewish continuity.

Families are invited to join Rabbi Newman Kamin as she meets with SJS classes throughout the year. These sessions connect classroom learning with Jewish traditions, values, and holidays, creating meaningful opportunities for learning together.
As students begin preparing for B'nai Mitzvah, clergy and staff meet with sixth-grade students and their parents to explore the journey ahead, discuss expectations, and help families prepare for this important milestone together.
Throughout the year, families gather to celebrate Jewish holidays through worship, learning, music, and hands-on experiences designed for all ages.
Families are invited to celebrate the High Holidays through engaging worship experiences, age-appropriate programming, and meaningful opportunities for children and adults to reflect, pray, and begin the new year together.
Gather in the sukkah, celebrate the harvest season, and mark the joy of completing and beginning the Torah cycle with music, dancing, and family-friendly festivities.
Celebrate the Festival of Lights with community candle lighting, songs, holiday traditions, and special family programs that bring warmth and joy to the season.
Celebrate Passover as a family through interactive learning, storytelling, and our annual Model Seder, where participants of all ages explore the traditions and themes of the holiday together.
Dress up, hear the Megillah, enjoy festive activities, and celebrate the joy of Purim with costumes, music, games, and community-wide fun for all ages.
