Rabbi’s Class “The Meaning of Peoplehood”

Tuesday, November 5 - Tuesday, December 3, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Rabbi Newman Kamin will be offering an in person class this fall. Utilizing the Shalom Hartman curriculum we will be exploring the meaning of peoplehood at a time like this. We will be exploring questions related to the collective experience of Jewish life:

  • What does it mean to be part of the Jewish community?
  • To what extent can communities hold diverse and shared values at the same time?
  • What does Jewish peoplehood mean today, when the centers of Jewish life, North America and Israel, are so different and independent from one another?

The classes will meet on four Tuesdays from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Synagogue on Nov. 5, 12, 19 and Dec. 3.  Note, no class on Nov. 26.
