Tikkun Olam – Repairing the World

Our Tikkun Olam committee volunteers at the Beth Emet Soup Kitchen in Evanston several times/year, and the next date is Wednesday, Dec. 3.  In 2026 we will be volunteering on Wednesday, May 27 and Wednesday, Dec. 2.   Each time, we have 10-12 volunteers. The time is from 4:15-7:00 pm. We purchase the food in advance, then prepare the meal and serve the meal.  If there are members of Am Yisrael that are interested in participating (this can include youth, ages 16+), please contact Steve Zeal at stevezeal@gmail.com

This is an amazing charitable opportunity.

We have participated in a drive to raise funds to provide an ambulance for Israel through Magen David Adom.  We were excited to co-sponsor a refugee family from Afghanistan through HIAS.  The family arrived in January 2022 and has settled into its new life, with support from our congregation.
