Showcasing Am Yisrael’s vibrant community, Family Shabbat fosters meaningful interactions among families and strengthens community connections, while inspiring Jewish life and learning. We would be delighted if you and your loved ones joined us for a family-friendly kiddush lunch. Additionally, some of our intergenerational Torah readers will be honored with the opportunity to chant from the Torah at these important gatherings.
Over the years, dozens of students and their family members have chanted verses of Torah and earned their own personalized yads at Family Shabbat and on Torah-based Intergenerational Jewish holidays. Family Shabbat is a core component of our School of Jewish Studies (SJS) Jewish educational experience. Composting at our kiddush lunches is sponsored by our Better Together grant.
Please save the following dates on your calendar: The main service takes place in the Sanctuary, beginning at 9:30 a.m. every Shabbat morning. For our pre-B’nai Mitzvah and assigned madrichim, we meet in the Social Hall from 10:15 a.m.-11:30 a.m., followed by kiddush lunch on Saturday mornings. This year we will be holding two of these programs on Friday evenings from 6:00 p.m.-6:40 p.m.
