Now, more than ever, it is the perfect time to spread light and build community as Am Yisrael prepares to host Family Promise on December 22 to December 29.
Family Promise is a group of faith communities/congregations and non-profit organizations on the North Shore that provide temporary housing, employment counseling, and other support to unhoused families as they transition to permanent housing.
We encourage you to read more about Family Promise here.
There are various ways to help with Family Promise, including by signing up for:
Dinner shift: volunteers serve a catered/prepared meal and join our guests and their children for dinner;
Overnight shift: volunteers spend the night at the synagogue in a private classroom;
Purchasing kosher food: sign up to bring specific, kosher food items;
Purchasing holiday gifts: sign up to buy holiday gifts for our guests – the gift list will be updated when we know who will be in the program and what is on their wish list;
Providing financial support: donations are accepted through the Am Yisrael website (earmark your gift for Family Promise).
