We are excited to co-sponsor a refugee family from Afghanistan through HIAS. Our commitment includes furnishing an apartment for the family.
Under the amazing leadership of Dan Schack, Ellen Goldsmith, Penny Brown and Marcia Adelman, we have collected all of the items we need to furnish the apartment for the refugee family. We thank everyone for their generous contributions and timely delivery of the items they signed up to donate. Watch your emails in the next few weeks as we will let you know if we need more items or hands-on help.
We are still accepting monetary donations to support the family. If we raise more money than we have committed to raise, we will either apply the overage to the family’s needs, consider co-sponsoring a second family, or use the funds for other worthwhile causes that the congregation supports. Your generosity is appreciated.
